Hello! First post here. Couldn't get posting privileges for a couple of days, but now it seems to be working. :)
This site doesn't seem to have too many active members, but hopefully that will change over time. I'll just introduce myself in the meantime.
I was an avid action shooter back in the early 80's. I was a member of the Mid Pacific Pistol League back when it was just starting off. My father got me into the sport. I shot a S&W Model 19 with .38 spl. loads.
After my father drifted away from the IPSC shooting, I also headed off to college, and left the sport. Now, I'm pushing 40, and I'd like to pick up shooting again. To that end, my dear dad has handed over an old Ed Brown customized Colt Govt. Model in .45 ACP to me. It's a compensated pin gun, with all the bells and whistles in vogue 25 years ago. I also purchased a Springfield Armory XD-45 and am waiting for the permit to pick it up.
I have contacted Keith Kawamoto of MPPL. Amazingly, he still remembered me and my dad from back in the day. Once I get the Springer, I'll probably try out some USPSA shooting.
Well, sorry for making you read such a wordy post. I'm glad that there is a Hawaii Shooter's forum in existence, and I hope it grows in members and traffic! Thanks! :D
